1 Hour ArcGIS for AutoCAD Seminar

Things that take me about an hour:
  • My carpool to work with our lead CAD developer.
  • Watching an NBA basketball game with a DVR  …fast forwarding all the free throws and commercials, but pausing long enough to listen to Charles Barkley at halftime .
  • A virtual trip the 2012 Esri User Conference in San Diego to watch myself give a presentation on ArcGIS for AutoCAD.

Thank you for this - it's very helpful! I'm a mostly GIS sometimes CAD user and this will make next years work a lot easier for me, particularly exporting from CAD using FC filtering. Very cool!

Hi Don,

Hope you're enjoying your 2013 so far. I've been studying the whole geodesign movement lately and it got me to thinking have you considered an entry for your blog on putting your work into the context of how Esri is evolving the ArcGIS platform to support the emerging needs of geodesign? I would think that all the good stuff you do would dovetail nicely into this effort.

Just a thought.

Warmest regards,

Bryant Ralston

I agree GeoDesign is all about making informed design decisions where you need to make them. CAD is certainly one of those places where having access to the right information is critical to making better decisions. It would not be wrong to categorize ArcGIS for AutoCAD as one of the software tools of the "Geodesigner".
