Dive in to Map Services
The kids are back to school, which means catching
the bus at the bus stop, commuting to the university and studying at the
kitchen table. No matter which means of transportation
we take to school, videos are a great vehicle to bring understanding. Growing carbon nano tubes, or taking a journey through the digestive system, explaining the recent mars landing, or how to replace the closet fitting of your toilet now that your floor height is different in your "facilities".
In this video I will:
- Find Map Services on ArcGIS Online and using them in ArcGIS for AutoCAD
- Change the draw order of multiple maps
- Turn on and off the visibility of maps
- Toggle between on-demand and dynamically redrawn maps
- Control the visibility of layers within an individual map service
- Get geodatabase attributes from features in a map service and cut-n-paste them
- Modify the transparency of maps
- Control the map extents of individual maps
- Disconnect a map service and save it as a static AutoCAD raster entity
Here on this page (and at this link to a larger version of the same video on YouTube) is a video where I take a deeper look into using
map services in ArcGIS for AutoCAD 300. Field trip anyone?
